It depends on the complexity of the claim. Simple statistical claims can be verified within hours. More complex claims requiring multiple sources or expert consultation may take 1-3 days. We prioritize claims that are spreading rapidly or relate to breaking news.
No. We receive more submissions than we can check. We prioritize claims based on: (1) How many people have seen it, (2) Whether it's from a prominent public figure, (3) Whether it relates to important policy issues, and (4) Whether we can verify it with available evidence.
Yes. Providing your email is optional. We use it only to update you about the claim you submitted. We never publish submitters' names or contact details. However, providing context about where you saw the claim helps us prioritize it.
We review all submissions. If we decide to fact-check your claim, we'll investigate it using official sources, expert input, and verifiable evidence. Once published, we'll email you the link (if you provided an email). If we can't fact-check it, we won't respond—we receive too many submissions to reply to each one.
Email corrections@factcheckly.com with the URL of the fact-check and specific details about the error. Include any evidence that supports your claim. We'll review it within 48 hours. If we made an error, we'll correct it immediately and update the article with a clear correction notice.
